With the Communiqué on Trustmark in Electronic Commerce published in the Official Gazette on June 6, 2017, a new regulatory framework was established for e-commerce platforms. The Ministry of Trade has authorized the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) as the sole trustmark provider in Turkey.
Article 4 of the Communiqué defines the trustmark as "an electronic mark granted to service providers and intermediary service providers that comply with the minimum security and service quality standards stipulated in this Communiqué." The primary function of the trustmark is to signify the presence of "minimum security and service quality standards."
